California is the USA's premier
vacation destination.
Why not take advantage
of it's many wonders when you
visit Sacramento?
Below is just a sampling of the
attractions which are available:
Napa-Sonoma area. Dozens
of world-class wineries.
Yosemite
National Park.
Reservations
far in advance are usually
necessary for the best lodging
on the Valley floor, but
last-minute cancellations and
the range of more rustic
alternatives mean even
last-minute visitors can enjoy
the spectacular waterfalls and
panoramas at this National Park.
San
Francisco.
The cable cars. Golden Gate
Bridge. Fort Point. The most
cosmopolitan of U.S. West Coast
cities. And if all this isn't
enough, remember that Alcatraz
prison is still open for
business - the tour business,
that is.
Lake Tahoe.
Well, our neighbors in Nevada
might object to us calling this
a California Vacation
Destination, since most Lake
Tahoe visitors go at least in
part for the gambling at the
luxury hotels on the Nevada side
of the lake. But even if you
stay just in California, there
are the water sports and
breath-taking sunrise-to-sunset
alpine scenery.
Northern
California coastline.
Redwood forests with the tallest
trees and some of the oldest
plants on earth.
Bed-and-breakfast inns at quaint
towns in Mendocino County.
Isolated beaches where you can
be the only ones watching the
waves crashing against the
rocks.
Monterey-Carmel.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium, named
one of the best in the world.
Those golf courses you've seen
on TV, with the beachfront sand
traps. Shops with the latest
fashions from clothing to
swimwear to cookware to
electronics.
Gold Rush
Country.
Just
outside the Sacramento Valley,
the picturesque towns that
blossomed when gold was
discovered in California and
today hold memories of those
times. Places like Columbia, a
California state park with
working retail businesses down
the road from where the kids can
still pan for gold.
